I want to know where all these 28-29 MPH small blocks are when I'm at the river or lake. Over the past 3 weeks I have seen 3 different small blocks for sale that are claiming 28-29 light load. 2 of those were CH and one was MB. I didn't comment because I didn't want to jack the thread and I have no interest in buying but just for the guys out there that are looking at buying these rigs. You will not get 28-29 mph out of a small block unless conditions are heavily in your favor. For instance 50 MPH tail wind and 10 mph current. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I under stand what everybody is saying. There are some very light boats with lawn mower battery's,1/2 gallon of gas, seats removed and a 17 y/o kid that weighs a buck-0-5 that can put a big rock in the left front corner and run in 13 inches of water while holding there mouth half cocked sideways and run 28.6 and say they are running 29. But on the average your not gonna go buy a 1648 alweld or G3 put a 23 what ever on it and run 28. Agree? I just think a lot of new boat shoppers are getting the wrong impression. I blow by about 20 to 30 of them little Junkers along with some poodrives every season going or coming from blind and I am just running 3/4 thottle about 29-31 mph with my feet kicked up behind the center console so they might be running top 20!!!The copperheads I see won't even plane with 2 people, dog, and hunting shit!! |

There is a few running pretty good but they are on .080 gauge small boats and cannot carry a load without some modification. |

I had a modded 18 and a stock 23 on my 1436 and both would hold 30 lightly loaded and 23/25 with 2 people and a hunting load. The third person significantly killed it tho. But small light boat that's over powered will do it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

My 1648 weldbilt with a 22hp longtail and 9x5 does 15mph. It could turn a 9x6 no prob, seeing how it runs 15 with and without a load. So I have to say. These 30 mph small blocks on a 16 ft boat could totally happen ![]() It's simple. get a mud motor. shoot ducks in the face. |
