Post Boat trailer
currently have a 19 ft trailer that has a 16 ft boat on it. Purchased a 18 ft boat to put on it. I know mathematically it should work. How close to the toungue can u put the winch post? Any rule of thumb

I like mine far enough back that I can lower my tailgate.

I like to have 4' from the front of my boat to the hitch. Plenty enough room to walk through when the tailgate is down.

Also when turning. I would take the trailer and tape a wooden dowl or brrom stick in the place of the hitch. Back boat up and turn and all sorts of shit with tailgate down. If I clears, your good.
