I have a 18 x 44 GoDevil duck boat and am thinking I would like to put an outboard on it for fishing and easier operation than my longtail. I'm assuming I would need a 15" O/B. I'm thinking 20HP. Any issues I need to be aware of before I pull the trigger on this? |

you will want more hp than 20. A friend of mines has a 25 Yamaha on a 16x44. He likes it. But on an 18' boat, id go 40 or more. |

That 1844 is light if you have all the waterlogged foam out that godevil stuffs in there. I would go with the 40 either way since your swapping out to get speed for fishing. You'll be at or around 30mph with that. Maybe more. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I can jerk a 20 off by myself. That better?? LOL Hey I run 18.3 MPH with the 23 LT. Anything close to that is fine with me. |

Ehhh....the LT is a PITA to use fishing. I found a used 25 for sale. Seller doesn't know if it's a 15" or long shaft or anything else. Where do I tell him to measure? From top of transom clamp to cavitation plate? |

You can find 40 tillers all day long pretty cheap. I had a 70 on my 1848. |

I rode in same boat as yours with a 60 tiller. I was amazed how well that skinny boat handled the chop. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk |

Say what you will, I was impressed. Had three guys running across Matagorda. I thought he was crazy until we got out and realized how well it handled. I never would have thought. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk |
