To all the Louisana brethren, I very sorry for your losses. I know many of you have flood insurance. Keep this in mind, flood insurance is controlled by the federal government as many of you already know. If and when you get an adjuster to your home treat him with respect and be prepared to eat some crow if need be. If they decide they don't like you or don't want to help you, you have almost no immediate recourse. You will have to sue them and that will take years. You cannot recover attorney fees from the Feds! Their fees will come out of any settlement and will likely be the larger haof once all their "cost" are included. Treat the adjuster like a friend, some are scumbags and some are not. Some will do their jobs and some will not. Be smarter than the serpent! I'm a Florida public adjuster and will look into what I can do to help in LA . Probably not much. I do however know some good attorneys with a federal mandate that may be able to help if it comes to that. For some of you it will. Please share this with your LA friends and family. God bless you all of you.

Frog....know anything about this and the truths of it?

What the gubner saying is, if you were in an area NOT designated as a flood zone, you didn't have flood insurance and were flooded; you were eligible for up to $33K in benefits from FEMA providing you could document your losses.

From what a relative is saying she is experiencing is, you are eligible for low interest loan...if you can't get approved for the loan, that's when you can get the free-99 money from FEMA!

That is just so wrong on so many levels if that's how the system is rigged. Continue rewarding the dontdonuffins with the money from the working tax payers!

Someone this afternoon told me Prodrive was offering some sort of discount as well but I haven't seen anything in writing. Mine has a few nice dings from some Ascension parish blacktop. It was great to see all the guys out helping.

We built this pipe enclosure around this gate intercom at an apartment in Baton Rouge. I get there yesterday to inventory gate damage from the flood and its knocked over. You could see prop marks on the top of the intercom. Impossible to hit with a car.
