Hey guys I have a 1648 flat bottom and a 1648 mod v both with 20inch transoms. I have a 25hp motor and I was going to order a sd frame kit from MB. With that being said do I get the 27" or 32" drive? Also what would be a better hull to put it on? The flat or mod v? I'm new to the mm game so don't give me too much crap ha! |

Is MB selling frame kits? The last time I checked with them the answer was no. That was a while back though. |

Heres a 1648 20" transom flat bottom, with a moded MB BD 45 pushing it. Runs pretty good, and hauls 5 people really well. |

That is posted everywhere on this site, but in short, the V bottom delivers turbulent water (or at least not flat) to the prop. These things by nature really need flat, smooth water to the prop to provide good thrust since half of it is out of the water. |

Hate to be "that guy" on this thread but what kind of load are you carrying? and what conditions are you running in? You may find out that that 25 sd might not be what your expecting speed and load carrying wise with that size of boat. Had a buddy that started with a 1648 with a 25 gtr, let's just say he's running a 45 mag now. Just my .02 Sent using smoke signals |

I'd put the 25 on that 1546 and roll with it. Should be a good little setup especially if you're planning on dumping it next year. Sent using smoke signals |

You'd be SO Much better off finding an old beat up 35 whatever for about $3k. Throw it on the 1648 and go hunt. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I537 using Tapatalk |

Probably doesn't matter, sounds like you'll do about the opposite of what everyone recommends anyway. Lol |

Just giving you shit dude. Everyone recommended the 35, and you're going with the 25. It'll be serviceable and get you thru for a season or two. You'll be alright. Good luck on the wedding. |

Just out of curiosity what are they going to charge you for just the frame for that 25? Sent using smoke signals |
