Well I reluctantly traded my 1860 surface drive for a 2003 godevil duck skiff tonight. Got some cash and wasn't using the SD enough also had been eyeing these for a while. The damn thing is .100 though. But I took it anyways bc it's a sweet ass little rig. How bad am I gona fuck this thing up when I go bumping rocks and stumps? Will a surface drive destroy it? Wow I wasn't aware you were looking to get rid of the 1860. What size are those duck skiffs. I imagine you have it pretty much hammered if you run it like I do. We're in the same situation y'all are with low water so I been jumping a lot of down logs and stumps lately. Hurricane gave us plenty to dodge dip duck dive and dodge....and ramp. Kinda need a long tail to get to some of the spots I been running. If my 3 blade wasn't already trashed it be gone by now. |

Good ol buyers remorse. I don't think it will be too bad, you'll probably get a few dents but think about all of the people that run these things on tin can budget boats. You'll get a couple seasons out of it if your reasonable with it. Has the foam been taken out yet? Maybe add some more bracing while you take that shit out. |

I had the 1844 in .100 and it held up fairly well considering what it went through. The bottom did eventually crack alongside the bracing which was caused by not enough bunks on the trailer. |

That's a great small water boat. You will probably have to install wedges when you put the SD on it to keep the bow down running solo but still a sweet setup |

I had an 1860 that was all .125 that would dent to easy, I thought. Next will be either 3/16 or .125 with poly. But the way I drive if there is water, Im wide open. sometimes if there aint water. lol |
