I have a mud buddy sport v mag 5000 on a excel f4 1751 and the tiller torque pushing toward me is just about unbearable. I've tried bending the skeg like the manual says but it didn't really help. Is there anything else that may be causing the problem and what can I do to fix it. Please Help! Thanks

Try shifting some weight from one side to another.

The last few times I've ran it the boat has been pretty much empty. Just me, my wife and a small cooler.

Move the cooler around. Also have your wife sit in a comfy folding Camp chair. Moving the chair around until you find where your rig performs best.

Adjust your trim sometimes that helps.

I don't think I can move the motor its bolted on the transom.

Remove bolts, fill holes, slide motor over, drill new holes, re-install bolts.

Remove bolts, fill holes, slide motor over, test run, if all is well, drill new holes and bolt in place..

How long has it been doing this?
Did the boat ever run right for you?
Did you recently hit something with it?
Can you post a picture of your skeg?
Can you post a picture of the motor on the back of the boat?

I have a Sport V 5000 on a 1754. Mine runs without significant tiller torque unless I have it trimmed way too low.

I just bought the boat a few weeks ago but the guard about the prob is a little bent that may have something to do with it. I'll try to post some pictures this week. Thanks
