were these weak or something? Seems like it would be an awesome idea to have a lighter surface drive for smaller boats with reverse. Low 20's in speed and have backup pull start Reckon they would sell me a frame and I could put my new 23 on it? |

Not that this necessarily addresses your question but they offer a 25hp gtr... for guys running restricted refuges or littler rigs Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

But the new 25 is same block as 37 and is same weight so might as well get 37. I want something a little lighter |

For sure... prolly just trying to get all they can out of the max restriction... you could always buy an old used rig, and buy a 23 powerhead for it, and be able to use either Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have a brand new powerhead and was thinking of something like tgat. i guess id have to check on gear ratios and such and i guess the frames would be the same. My little 1638 gd boat would be tough with a small motor with reverse. No way it could handle a 35 with my fat butt sitting in the back |

I finally got my hands on one, I have a 1448 to be built this summer that I'm putting it on. This boat will be for small water where I can't get my bigger boats in. The motor already has exhaust and carb on it so should run pretty good |

Small block V-twin (23 efi) 77lbs. Big block V-twin(37 efi) 125lbs. Hmmm 48 lb weight saving, doesn't seem like a bad idea. Probably gonna need a smaller diameter prop or less pitch to get it in the "right" rpm range. |
