How in the world are guys with brand new GTR rigs getting 27 mph but we've got guys with 25hp Kohler longtails claiming 25 mph. Must be running that high octane fuel.

Both are smoking that high octane crack...

I believe zero speeds posted here unless I personally know the individual, and even then I question how much they had been drinking

You just busted my bubble I thought all stock longtails got 25mph and all stock surface drives got 30+ mph.

Snap chat GPS does it every time! I have a 35 with stage 2+ mods on an 1854 mud hull and with my gearing if I get much above 30 with a light load, i'm happy af. I see these dudes talking about getting 25+ with longtails and I am like wtf? I've had a few Lt's and none of them were anywhere close to 25 mph. Also some of the speeds posted with the new stock efi motors are waaay faster than I thought they should be? I honestly don't give a fat rats ass how fast my rig is. I want it to be powerful enough to carry a heavy hunting or bow fishing load and not plow like a damn tractor with said load. I can honestly run 23-26 mph with a heavy hunting or bow fishing load and the speeds are conducive to water/weather conditions.

My 18x60 rig has done nothing but impress me since I did my mods. With only an exhaust I topped at a little over 27 unloaded and it was a slug out of the hole.

Now with the cam, heads, carb, exhaust, and worked prop that SOB is a beast. Loaded with 2 coolers (@70 pounds) and 5 people (@750 pounds), I was able to jump on plane quick and run over 32mph.
