What typically causes a backfire. Motor runs great, but backfires when I shut motor off and immediately turn it back on. If I were to wait a minute b4 starting it up, it typically does not. Was thinking of cleaning the carb, but I just did that 2 years ago and have really had no issues with the carb. Motor idles perfectly at around 1100 RPMs. I always use new gas, has new gas line, and after disconnecting the fuel lines for storage I throw the old gas in the truck in the spring. Motor has around 340 hrs. Just wondering. Thanks |

Sucking cool air back up in the heads through a blown exhaust gasket can cause that. ![]() |

As can the engine just not quite getting enough fuel on that last (on shut off) or first (cranking it so quickly after shutting it off) burn cycle (effectively a lean condition, but nothing to worry about). Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk |
