That's what I thought it was. I hooked a jumper from a battery to the trailer plug and all the lights work. I also checked the truck with a test light. When I plug the trailer into the truck none of the trailer lights work. I also cleaned all the ground connections on the lights on the trailer and used electric grease. Any ideas?

To test, run a seperate ground from the trailer to the truck.

I would bet the ground wire on the truck isn't connected. Hook your trailer up to your truck and use a jumper wire to connect to a good ground on the truck and a good ground on the trailer. I bet they will work then.

Are you 100% sure the truck is wired correctly, does the truck have amber rear turn signals?

If so, is the harness converter working properly? Factory wiring on the truck? What yr truck?

I had a similar problem, all lights on truck worked but trailer lights would not! When I started I checked the truck and it was working, but for some reason the first time I pluged in the trailer it blew 2 fuses on truck(2007 F150) and the truck lights still worked because they were on a separate fuse. They do make a plug that is a circuit tester for the 4 pin that all it has is indicator lights that show if all "circuits" are working at the plug on truck.

If the test light is working in all ports (turn/stop, and park) you can trace it down from there.

Bad plug on trailer side
Cut in the wiring somewhere
Bad ground (you say you eliminated this)
Corrosion at light connections
Bad grounding at lights. (Most use the trailer frame and not direct wiring)
