When running to the blind today and I noticed my motor started running a little smoother. Got to the blind and the air filter cover and filter was gone! The bolt that holds the cover one was sheered. I really like how the motor run with no filter, even picked up more speed! Is there a performance cover out there to give the motor more air?

You can get the Gecker setup. Its an adapter and filter to bolt onto a stock carb.

Better have a damn good prefilter...

i have thought about doing away with the cleaner all together. these are boat motors and if you havent looked no other boat motors have filters. outboards have an air box and inboards have spark arresters. why would a mm be any different?

i understand large objects was thinkin about an expanded metal cage with a pre filter type sock around it or even screen. stop the big stuff, but as far as dust, i dont think you would need the small particulite (?) filtration.

the element portition of the filter would be deleated. guess you could just run the box w/o the filter and maybe a screen to catch the big stuff.

the element on these motors are the same one shiped with the engine, to be used on lawn and industrial equipment. ie lots of dust and debrits

i dont beleave the dust would be a problem on any kind of water.
