Alright i need some advice. I replaced my heads and pushrods myself and set my valve lash following the instructions from “willie fast” on youtube. I took the boat out and it hardly ran, took off the valve covers and everything was loose and 2 pushrods came out of their seat. From what ive seen it sounds like my timing is out of whack and i have no clue how to confirm this or set it back. I’m pretty mechanically inclined but i do get ahead of myself and fuck stuff up every now and then. I cant find any videos or threads on here of how to actually set timing. Any help is appreciated Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I’m really confused. Did you replace the cam? What timing are you talking about? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

It doesnt change unless you pull the cam out and dont line it back up correctly. Reset your valve lash, make sure everything is torqued correctly and try running it again. #CFFITR #GhostBoat #Whoneedsphysicsihaveamudmotor |

It's not timing, you didn't set them correctly if they were loose. You have mechanical timing with the cam and crank, which you didn't touch. And ignition timing with the flywheel and coils, which you should not have touched. The"timing" should be fine other than your timing on setting the valve lash. Study on the way the cam works but the video above is pretty straight forward. |
