I have 1854 and use a 24 volt Minn Kota with cable foot steering. I can fish 2 days non stop with no issue. Sent from my SM-G892A using Tapatalk |

My fishing boat is a 1860 seaark. Have a 55lb minkota riptide edge 12v. It does decent but I’d buy a 24v system if I had to do it again. High winds and open water mine won’t keep up. Been very happy switching to minkota from great white. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have a 1860 grizzly that I fish with, it's got a 55# motor guide on it. 12v. it's fine for fishing in da bayou. if there was current it might not be enough. if u have room for batteries, i'd go 24 volt and as big as u can afford. |

24V MinnKota 80lb 60" shaft. You will want a longer shaft on a hand control model so you can raise it up to a comfortable level to operate. I highly recommend going with a 24V system, I'll never go back to a 12V. Had a 55# 12V on my 1754 and it struggled on a windy day. Had to run it in high all the time it seemed. Now running a 1954 Excel, 24V Riptide is awesome. You can also go with the co-pilot/I-pilot model. Run a shorter shaft since you won't need to have you hands on the control head being that it's remote operated. Little more expensive but gives you the option to operate the TM anywhere in the boat. |

55 lb 12 volt ipilot. Wanted a 48 inch shaft and 12 volts, so the powerdrive 55 was a perfect choice for my 18 54. Have the same thing in 70 lb on my bay boat. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk |

I have a 55 on my rig and it was getting me all over the lake today in and out of grass with strong wind. More than I really needed. |

I have a heavy 1854 SBX with a 24v 80# motorguide and it's awesome, plenty of power to power through the weeds, wind and current. I would never go back to another 12v system after having this one. I can fish hard for two days without charging, maybe longer, just haven't gone longer than a weekend without charging. I have an onboard charger and keep it plugged in when not in use. Batteries in the back and have about 25' of 06 marine grade cable for power to the front. Proper wire size and connectors helps with amp draw and longevity. |
