 reducted long tail ?
i asked this on the home built topic.
has any of the manufactures ever built a reducted long tail? seems that most of the shallow drive proformance of a sd comes from being able to swing the big props. proven by the big blades that came out even after the first run of sd props.
the advantage of the long tails seems to be the reach with some credit going to the smaller prop at higher rpm. ( thus 4wd mm)
dude wants a double joint shaft w/ reduction. it just looks like the drop of a short reduction mid section would decrease the angle of the prop w/o the joints enough to get a close to paralel (sp?) drive. the reduction would allow a big blade. the longer shaft would give the reach.
