Post subject:  Personal Introduction

Hola, folks. New to the forum, obviously. I've lurked since about November, catching the occasional laugh, but mainly drooling over boats/motors. Just bought a house, and thank god for our president (insert sarcastic tone here), cuz my tax return is going straight to a duck rig.

Some of you don't know it, but you're post have helped me narrow my decision greatly, and also convinced me to spend way more than I originally intended. The theme I picked up on was go big now, so you don't have to later. Anywho, I'm 24, reside in Waco, Texas, and love to hunt. Don't fish much anymore, but do spend the winter months predominantly outside.

I'm a park ranger for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers here at Waco Lake, so I try to keep an eye on all the good spots. And let me stop you before you ask, all Corps lakes are different, but I will gladly answer questions about my lake. I hunt behind my 2 1/2 yrold choc lab, Gunner. He's my buddy, and we've got the duck and dove game figured out. He's also a beer drinker, as I am, so he makes for a pretty good companion. I'm thick skinned, thank god, cuz I've notice a few d-bags running around in here too. Try not to take what I say to heart, cuz I tend to waller in the bs sometimes.

Now the real reason I joined up: Which one of you coona$$'s got the best deal on some crawfish??

Post subject:  Re: Personal Introduction

Good lawd, look at all that crap. Looks like I found all the d-bags in my first post!!

Brooks, no sir, remember that crazyass man lit the "compound" up and like 80 somethin kin went with him. Talk about saving the population from an incest-infested blood-line!!! MAybe Arkansas can put that tactic to good use...

Brinkly, if that was for me, piss off. (but i love your signature)

Tenpoint, depending on a few different variables regarding quality/preparation of your mudbugs, i could drive, YOU could drive, or we could use a lovely organization known as U. P. S. All kidding aside, depending on the price/lb it would be me driving. Or overnight express.

Melvin, WestEnd : I decided on a Mud Buddy rig................... hahaha Suckas!
I've looked and looked, and through all the bs on here actually managed to find some good advice "DO NOT PUT A MUD MOTOR ON A REGULAR HULL". I think i've found the rig I'm getting, he's not pushin to sell too hard and I'm waitin on my tax return. Anywho, its a 1648 GD with a 25 GDLT. But I get on here almost every day and make sweet love to 27 PD thats up near dallas, so I think I'll be buying the combo i found, then the surface drive, then turn around and sell the LT to one of you beaches.

To the rest of you peenchays, beso me culo!

Post subject:  Re: Personal Introduction

ok, so I been doin my researching, and I'm not so sure about the 27PD. Would I get that much more performance over the 25LT? Would I be able to get enough $$ out of the LT to ease some of the cost of the PD? One thing to consider is that we don't have that super nastyshit mud yall have over in those coastal areas. We got mud, just not that soupy, gumbo, toilet bowl after a weekend of eatin the craydaddys lookin stuff.

Also, I have no personal experience with either. Just common sense

Post subject:  Re: Personal Introduction

i suggest you get with some guys that live close in your area and ask them to take ya for a test drive. they will prob be more than willin to give ya one

Post subject:  Re: Personal Introduction

As gay as woodpeckerlips??? cuz DATS gay!! everyone knows they have a beak........

ok, sorry for the corny joke. Melvin, only prob with that is that I'm in central texas, and mud motors are few and far between. There's a place called R&B outdoors in Pfluegerville, which is just 90 miles away. Longview has a dealer i do believe, but they're over 200 away. But so far as locals, I've seen 1 surface drive and thats it.

I was really just hoping someone would be able to compare the 25lt to the 27PD from personal experience, to see if it would be worth it. Like i stated before, we don't have the nice, deep, pillowy mud folks have down south near the coast.

I've researched as much as possible on here and elsewhere to try and get some info, but the feedback just isn't there. Should I just make a thread asking about the 2 motors, and hope for some more input?

Call Rick over @ R&B. I've spoken with him a few times and he seems like a pretty good guy.

Spoke to Rick. Real nice guy. Just a regular old Texas hunter, it sounds like. After talkin with him, he left me with the impression that boys will be boys and want faster toys. So, Now I just need to get my tax return, and pick out a BIG surface drive to take me out and about. Thanks guys.
