 ATV Mud Motor
Anyone tried building a mud motor from an ATV engine? I have an older Honda TRX 250, it's shaft drive and air cooled. Seems like it might have potential. It's up at my camp in the shed now, runs fine, got it for free, definately going to think more about it. Thought it might have been hashed out here before, no point reinventing the wheel.

 Re: ATV Mud Motor
I was kinda hoping someone that had tried it would say "ya it worked great" or "don't waste your time" I was thinking with the transmission you could get some good low end torque in the mud and higher rpms when you needed it, plus reverse. The down side would be I'm pretty sure the 250 I have is under 20hp and is probably pretty heavy with the transmission and all. I only have a 14x36 john boat I'm working on to put it on, I'll probably just stick with the 10hp snow blower engine I have to build one from. I've been gathering/making parts for awhile, just gotta start putting things together.
