i bought a vintage gd that some one had replaced the engine with a 16hp vanguard with a 9 qt fuel tank on top. i want to convert it to a pump fed with a remote tank. my question is, is the carb the same for a pump fed vs. a gravity fed? can i just put a pump on or do i have to change carbs? its a 303442-1068-a2. i talked to B&s and they were not very helpful saying it was a modification and they dont want to be liable.

If the carb maker offers that option yes. Just as I just found out mikuni offers different float needles and seats for gravity apps and pump apps.

yea it was what i was kinda thinking. its a nikki carb and the jets and needle seat are pressed in, so i guess a new carb it is, thanks..
