 Re: Motor Performance
I actually took my bone stock 36PD and added exhaust, heads and cam. Would tote a load and still have good speed. I sent my stock carb off and had it worked and my speeds went to around 32 mph, but never loss the load carrying capacity. This was my stage 1 according to some on here. I then just recently added the mikuni carb (WTF i didn't add this earlier is beyond me) and my speeds have increased even more and the entire throttle range is more crisp from idle to WFO. This is considered a stage 2. From there, you could add roller rockers, eagle rods, push rods, pistons. I would assume all that shit would give you a stage 3. But one thing to consider, I did this to carry more load, the added hp gave me more speed. Speed is not why I did it, but its a very nice add on. I don't have to push the motor near as hard to get the same results as before. The best bang for the buck is have someone work your heads ($600-$700) around that price. Gut your stock exhaust (too restrictive) which cost $0. More air in += more air out. Then go from there. I added the cam only because I had a crankcase leak and had to pull my block to change the gasket anyway. So since it was apart, installed the cam. How much $$$ you have and how much $$$ you want to spent really.

 Re: Motor Performance
Port, polish, deck, 3+ angle valve seats, ss valves, springs shimmed, and at a price that high should include all necessary gaskets as well.
