 Re: setting Valves???...help!
Tried all kinds of different timing positions, couldn't notice any real performance gains on my engine... got my "best" performance, idling, temps and speeds with no advance.

 Re: setting Valves???...help!
if u got da carb from EVT dey should've sent u a short cable dat u can attach to da end of da throttle rod via the black plastic swivel thingy that ur stock rod linkage threaded into... and just use one of da existing choke cable clamps to secure it in place....
Dat setup works ok.... but a custom cable and twist grip throttle works way better.

 Re: setting Valves???...help!
Thanks everyone for the help. Got the rod from coondik today and put together. Thanks again Rod, that was a huge assist!!! i ended up hooking the throttle up the same way PD did it except I didnt need the governor spring sh@t cause of the rev limiter(thats what silkpower told me to do, so thats what I did). Going to need a better spring than the one I have to pull the throttle back. Motor sounds real strong, I will launch and run it in the next couple of days and see what i got.
Do I need the 2 heat shields that are in the middle on the carb side of the motor?
Thanks again for the help Dave

Dave those r more cooling than heat deflection. They direct the air towards the cooling fins on u'r heads, keep em' on. I would also look into an aftermarket oil cooler!
