Post need some info for modds
i got 27 pd and want to put double barrel carb.
Stock Kohler Command 2-barrel carb and intake for the CH series engines (horizontal crank). We've dyno'd this set-up and its a
drop on installation, picked up 8 horsepower over our competitor's reworked 25 hp carb. Carb is $254.00, intake is $92.00. The package deal with gaskets is $346.00. Perfect for the stock and stock altered class where OEM parts are required.and a K&N Air Filter fits our velocity stack for 2 Barrel carb for Kohler Command $65.00 do yall think i should do it , it say6s i will pick up 8 more hp with it and what else do i need, do i need a new rev limiter. please help me out.

i think he's tellin a tale, 8 hp sure is alot. a stage 1 kit, which is mikuni carb, knn intake, headwork, and highflow exhaust doesent even get you a 7 hp gain on a 35hp. i doubt just the carb on a 27 will even get you 2-3. f that

First off I believe the HP comparison is based off a modded block and when they dyno'd it against Lakota's carb just for reference.

I ran this setup on my 27 pd, but I had tuning issues, it would stumble and cough off the line if you didn't feather into the throttle. While running wide open it performed great. I also ran the factory 30HP heads, which to me were an excellent swap.

The carb/intake is a direct bolt on and all you need to do is straighten out the linkage rod that goes from the gov arm to the carb.

If you do order this setup tell them all you need is the intake flange bolts, gasket set, and carb mounting bolts otherwise they will send out a whole bunch of extra junk you don't need like the throttle bracket, springs, screws, different linkage rods, etc.

Also don't get the air cleaner elbow that is shown in the picture, get the velocity stack and air cleaner setup they designed.

I was able to run 27.1 mph on a 1748 Beavertail hull with a washboard bottom and 2 people on board at MG07.

30hp head on left.

Carb and intake.

I sold the carb and intake to Rooster on the old forum, and went back to the stock carb/intake to eliminate the headaches, I should have just spent more time tinkering with it tho. The Kohler block is great for mods, and when you see one cranking out 60+ hp and at 31 lbs lighter than the 35/36 briggs it should do suprisingly well on the right hull.
