Post subject:  Re: performance

Maybe I missed it but Is the rig new or used ? What condition is the prop?

Author:  fish_hook128 [ Tue May 26, 2009 8:55 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: performance

the prop is out of the Water, the hex nut that holds in on is just under water level thats were i get best MPH any higher and i get high RPMs and back fire on motor.

I got 4500RPM from my HD35 with headwork and stock carb on an Excel.

Do you have a straight transom to the bottom of the boat or is there a bevel in it?

Post subject:  Re: performance

You have alot of boat there, are those deep water speeds?

From what Ive seen theres not much to gain after 4500 rpm

Post subject:  Re: performance

What does your prop measure? I think it should be 12-12.25".

Author:  fish_hook128 [ Thu May 28, 2009 8:07 am ]
Post subject:  Re: performance

i have a 12-12.25" prop and ya thats mainly deep water, the only reason i think i have a problem is my friend has the same motor on a 21 foot GT that is 64" wide with remote steer and we run the same speed, amd RPM. i figured i would run a lil faster that barge he is driving.

1754 Gator Trax with hunt deck is 18'10" overall. I have run both 1854 (owned one) and 2054 GT boats with stock 35 Hypers and have gotten 24ish with one man...25ish on a really good day. This is in deep water at 2500' elevation.

I have a buddy running an 1854 Gatortrax boat with a slightly modded motor (carb, heads and exhaust but no internal mods) and he is getting 27.

I think there is definitely something wrong with a 6000 on that boat only turning in high 20s speeds.

ps - your boat looks like a pretty heavy sob with all those boxes built in.

Post subject:  Re: performance

didnt even call them, MudBuddy told me that if it was over 6months than they would be no help. MB must not thank to highly of them either. A buddy of mine just picked up a 35mb form HW and has had it a week and we is already having problems with the way they set it up. MB told him not to deal with them any more just call them and they will take care of it no charge.
