Oil leak
Thought my oil leak was still coming from the case gasket but it appears to be coming from the seal around the shaft coming out the motor itself. Can't be good but at least it's still under warranty.

Re: Oil leak
I plan on getting the stage-1 mods this spring but I'm glad I didn't do it before this leak started. I need a new rectifier too. Its been dead for a month or so now.

Re: Oil leak
Just putting it on the charger when I get home. With just a lawn tractor battery I have only ran it down once and that was all day running, over 70 miles. I always carry a second LT battery as backup though.

Re: Oil leak
I gotcha! Good idea i need to do the same and get me a second battery. Sure would be nice if someone would come out with a manual start kit for these things!

Re: Oil leak
Pull the cowling/coils/flywheel/etc on the top one. Gotta pull the engine for the lower, take off the spline adapter/clutch/etc , but you don't have to crack the case to change the seal. Carefully pound/tap a screwdriver into the old seal and pry it out, oil everything up, slide the new over and evenly tap it in round the crank end.
