 I need a miracle
Noticed today that I had a broken bolt in my crankcase under the # 2 cylinder that holds the bottom half to the top half just above the muffler, was able to make a alignment tool to drill it through but after about two hours with a easy out the easy out broke, anybody know of anything that can drill a easy out its dam hard.

 Re: I need a miracle
You do need a miracle!! If you come up with something to drill or remove the easy out, patent it and make millions. Probably make quite a few dollas here.

 Re: I need a miracle
Dammit that don't sound to good Myboy! Normally the bolt end will screw right out once the head is gone. I take it, it was a really small easy out? maybe a diamond tip rotory bit and a grabit extractor. Good luck

 Re: I need a miracle

 Re: I need a miracle
why dont u post a pic up, might be another alternative that ur just not thinking of. hard to say without seeing it. if u can get to it, tack a welding rod to it and pull it out. ur not gonna be able to drill through it with no bit. might have to just do whatever it takes and put a helicoil in it after.

 Re: I need a miracle
Some times a punch and a good hard rap with a hammer will break up the easy out. Take the head off if you can, you may be able to unscrew bolt and easy out has a package.. Use this has a last effort and use good eye protection.

 Re: I need a miracle
Its in the blind hole under the number two cylinder don't think it goes through it sheared right at the upper block so there is about a 1 inch dead spot in the lower block/cover will try to tap with hard punch maybe break it up but never been successful with that before but trying, also didn't notice any cracks in the crankcase.

 Re: I need a miracle
i have used masonary bits to drill out head & exhaust studs before. of course dat was in cast iron block & heads! an aluminum block with a steel bolt & a high carbon easy out jammed in it sounds like de makings of a disaster! for future referrence use left hand bits to get de bolts out. i stay away from "easy outs" dey become brittle after prolonged use and can really cause some headaches
