What is the purpost of shimming your springs when you have head work done? |

enables u to turn higher rpms safely by increasing spring pressure, which keeps ur valves from floatin. stock valve train floats at around 4300~4400 rpms. |

Shimming the valves = more valve tention. causing more load on the push rods. ect, New stronger push rods would complement those shims. JMO and something to think about Myboy. Btw, did it rain today? ![]() |

Adds more tension to the springs. Will keep you from floating up to about 4800-4900 RPM with stock rocker arms. However, the stock connecting rods and push rods limit you to about 4500 or so. |
