air filters on modded motors

 air filters on modded motorslets just say that a feller has a modded motor with the exosed air filter and all that and he goes out huntin. he parks the boat a 6 a.m. and it immediatly starts raining and he hunts til 9 a.m. or so. will that affect anything running the motor with an air filter soaked to bone in the rain?
