Has anyone tried changing out the timing keys to advance the timing. I have a stock motor and was told adding the exhaust and changing the keys would make a noticable difference. Any info would help |

Advancing the timing is supposed to give you a little better throttle response. Some people say they see no difference at all. If you want to try it you can buy the advance timing keys thru EVT for about 5 bucks. |

I tried it on my 35 and didn't see a difference but others have as Craig posted. I guess its dependent on the motor. |

When I talked to those EVT boys they told me that I would notice gains in the low end and mid range but not so much on the top end. |

Someone posted this before- really explains well how the timing works on the Briggs and what the timing key is doing. It says you give up low end as you advance. |

That's a good article DB8. It seems that alot of things you adjust or replace on the engine, effects something else down the line. |
