Its driving me nuts! The motor will start when cold on the first crank, run a while no problems ,start and stop a couple of times OK. The I will stop and try to restart, (IT GIVES A FEW SOFT BURPS THROUGH THE MUFFLER AND CARB AS IT SPINS, IF I KEEP SPINNG IT SOME TIMES WILL START ,OTHER TIMES I HAVE TO REST IT FOR 5 OR SO MINUTES. Some times pulling the choke will help sometimes not. Any ideas. Once it starts it idles well at about 900 rpm on the water I adjusted the fuel air screw to best lean idle for highest rpm and a fuel air ratio just shy of rich according to the fuel air ratio gage. It only wants to do it on the water? JD |

Occassionally my GT will die during running after getting hot on the water, and will act up not starting. Pump the bulb and cranks right up. I'd start with the simplest things to check, fuel, line, and maybe air getting into line. After that, I'm no mechanic. Good Luck! |

JD, Mine was doing the same thing. Turns out it was the oil pressure sensor. It's pretty easy to isolate and may be a good starting place. If it won't restart, just unplug the wire from the sensor and see if it starts afterwards. For now, I just run with the sensor unplugged. I'm too lazy to change the sensor, I will probably do it next oil change. REB |
