do I have to do something special to get this thing started ? I got compression ,ignition, air , 12.8 volts dc It primed itself and filled up the in-line fuel filter with fuel but no delivery . I removed the air filter line and shot some gas in the carb and it will start that way But wont sustain running ?? I just thought it was weird that it had enough vacuum to draw the fuel into and fill up the fuel filter but not run ? but will run a couple of seconds when primed ? |

Is your engine equipped with an electronic fuel shutoff solenoid on the carb.? If so, you should hear a little click when you turn the ignition on. If you do not hear a click, then the shutoff solenoid is bad. |

How far is your gas tank from the motor? I had a buddy of mine that had about 10' or so of fuel line, and all of a sudden the fuel pump on the motor wasnt strong enough. You may want to add a external fuel pump. Get the low pressure one from Napa. Cost under $30.00. |

Remove the section of fuel line that goes from your pump to the carb. Make sure gas is getting through that section. If so you might have something stuck in your low speed jet keeping the gas from entering the venturi. |

I agree with Craig, check the fuel shut off solenoid. Make sure your getting 12v to the solenoid with the key in the run position. If the motor has been layed up for a while the solenoid may be stuck closed. Good luck. |

Pull the solenoid out and find a small bolt with the same type threads and screw it in there. It the engine runs, that is your problem. |

got home last night after football with the boy had some time to mess with it . there is fuel in the line to the carb. I wiil pull the carb off tonight and see if the jets are clogged . also I didint see an electric solinoid but there are the two mikuni check valves that the main fuel line goes to . ther are two 1/4 " lines that go to the head I gues for Hg (vacuum) then one line to the carb but I bought this in the spring just let it sit until I bought a bigger boat to run a 35 sd 04 35 hyper shorty 09 1860 grizzly speed 0 fully loaded ![]() |

ok I removed air cleaner etc. to get to the carb then i saw it a damn fuel solenoid on the bottom of the bowl ![]() now my question is to all you mud gurus is can i just eliminate that fuel shut off solenoid and replace it with a bolt/screw the same pitch thread to eliminate this posibly failing out on a duck hunt in the middle of nowhere I make a 10 mile run each way and want to narrow down my chances of having a failure |

Yes, you can remove it and plug the hole. |
