The engine Does not seem to be charging my battery. I have a 35 vanguard and I can charge the battery till its full and it holds it for days, no problem. Go to the lake and i starts great, run around, starting and stopping and then all the sudden the battery is to dead to roll the engine over fast enough to start the engine. One time it just shut off completely while idling.

You guys ever had this. Its a year old.

Do you let the motor idle alot?? If so the motor is not charging the battery while idling, it starts charging around 2500 rpm..

What size starting battery are your running? Are you running anything off of it? How old is it and have you have it tested lately?

put a meter on your battery and see what your base voltage is. Next start the engine with the meter still connected and rev the engine up over 2000 rpms. You should see the voltage go up to 13 or 14 volts.
