 16hp vanguard fuel problem
I recently picked up this used vanguard, did the routine stuff, plugs, oil & filter change, cleaned up the flywheel, cleaned the carb (no mods), new fuel filter, new fuel hose and vacuum hose, new tank with a primer bulb & fuel pump. Once the motor is warmed up it will idle fine as soon as I run at higher RPM or put a load on it it will only run for about 1 min before running out of fuel and starts to die, if I close the choke it will come back to life. In addition at mid throttle if I squeeze the primer blub periodically it will run ok.
I hope someone can help with this, VERY FRUSTRAITED
Thanks JIm

 Re: 16hp vanguard fuel problem
would a restricted vacuum hose cause this problem? I noticed the new hose I installed had a kink in it, so I shortened hose. Motor seems to run better and it will start without the choke now. I did the pray thing hoping that this has fixed the problem, will not truely know until i put in the water.
I guess I was ment to figure this one out myself
