It all depends on how it's been maintained, but in general 200 hrs isn't squat on these engines. |

I don't know.... I'd say my lawn mower is hitting about 500 hrs. without an oil change. If you were talkin 2000hrs than maybe it would be a deal breaker but I don't know sheet either ![]() |

I have alot of experience with these air cooled engines. We run em in our carpet cleaning business. They power a huge blower (vacuum) and 1500 psi water pumps. Anyway, 2 of my engines have nearly 4000 hrs on them. We don't change the oil as regularly as we should. In 13 years and thousands of hours of running these things at WOT, I've never had one engine failure. 200 hours is not even broken in yet..... |

I don't know squat about them either, but I got one with about 300 hours on it and when it was pulled apart for mods it was still perfect inside. I know a guy with a mower that has over 2000 and it still runs strong. |

pull the plugs to see if they are black or white( they should of been changed at first 100 hours) if they are black and new then check the air cleaner for dirt (not common) . next i would check the compression and if the thing has been left outside with no cover. I could go on for hours about what to check so the best thing to do is take it to a mower repair shop to check it out. to answer your original question on 200 hours is that i would be alot more concerned if it had 1000 hours and lots of corrosion on it.as youve heard before, that motor is not even broken in yet ....... hope this helped |
