 Gator Tail throttle cable confusion
So I’m a little confused. I have a 23hp Vanguard that I ordered a new throttle cable for, off BPS. The engine is non EFI, so I ordered the “stock” engine end. Well, when I went to swap it out, the engine end on the new cable is different from what the end was on the existing cable, which appears to be a “stock EFI” end, according to the BPS website. The new one wouldn’t stay in the throttle, as it is too small and kept slipping out. As far as I am aware, the motor is stock, besides exhaust. The previous two owners claim it is a "stage 2" motor, but I cannot prove nor deny these claims. Anyone have any idea why this would be?? Thanks in advance!

Re: Gator Tail throttle cable confusion
I can't comment on the history of the cables for that motor, but can you just swap it out for the larger one? I mean regardless of whether BPS calls it "EFI" or "stock", I'd just get the one that fits.
When I added a new BPS throttle lever cable to my carb GTR, I modified the handle end and used the existing cable (had to grind it down). If I want to add the new cable, I'd have to drill a larger hole on the engine side (I'm keeping the new cable as a backup).

GT hast bigger ends and drills the bracket to accommodate it. Yeas the EFI end is the same size as the older GT stock carb setups
