I have been searching and trying everything I’ve read that I thought it could be. Just put new coils on it, cleaned the carb which is a mikuni, only aftermarket part on it. But it not wanting to run hardly in neutral and definitely not getting anything under load just cutting out and back firing through carb. If anyone could give a suggestion I’d greatly appreciate it!

Did you set the coil gap on the new ones?

I’m going to check valves today, and I did set gap on the new coils. How do you post a video on here, I can’t figure it out.

Just a though, but it could also be the flywheel key or possibly an air leak?

Just pulled the valve cover, one is broke haven’t looked a diagram on it yet. But if your looking at the rear of the motor, it’s the left cylinder and top valve.

I planned on shaving heads already, what should I put in them while I’m at it? Thank y’all for the information.

It looks like the top rod is out of the lifter cup. Or am I wrong

Yeah I saw that too. I’m surprised it didn’t bend the rod seated like that

If the lash was not set with it like that, then would it bend it or no?

It was the push rod that dropped out, just got a little excited looking at it at first. Gonna get me some oil and a filter today and fire em up this evening.

Great to have a group like this to help out with these kind of things. It is a nice way to learn how to work on these engines and save money.

Banded get a cookie for that lesson?
The last one is what usually happens, folks don't get the jamb nut tight enough, shit works loose, lash opens up, rod slips out and kink.
