1996 Briggs and Stratton Vanguard, 16 HP GDLT. Not getting anything from the ignition switch to try and start the engine. I’ve replaced the actual ignition switch and the starter solenoid. Engine will pull start with the pull rope. I can also jump the solenoid and get the starter to turn over. What the heck am I not seeing that is preventing me from using the key? Wire between the switch and the solenoid broken. Run a new wire. I don't remember the color of that one on the old 16 hp. #CFFITR #mudmotor>physics |

X2 on the wire going to the solenoid. You can read some threads on here about “gtr click”, same issue. I dealt with this on my 23, I used a slightly thicker wire to make sure I got enough.juice to the solenoid. If you just changed the solenoid, I’d try the wire before buying another.
