the 40 rods will only fit the 40 pistons. you can swap 40 rods and pistons into a 35. personaly i would just grab a new set of rods for the 35/37. they are better than the 2005 rods by alot. the newer stock rods hang out in the 60 hp range daily

Do you have a Briggs & Stratton part number for the 35 - 37 h.p. rods handy?

i dont have it in front of me but if you go to jacks small engines or parts tree and enter you model number. a replacement rod for yours will be the newer style. or use this number 61E477-0004-J1 . thats a number for a 37 wich has the same bottom end as yours
