 Lowes 1650 w/ 36hp prodrive
I had a little motor issues on the river the other day and ended up upgrading my whole rig to a Lowes 1650 w/ 36hp Prodrive. I have not really done a lot of research. I run the river and shallow stumpy areas. I may run it a little in the marsh. we don't have a lot of mud here in North LA, just a lot of shallow grass flats and flooded timber. I did ask a guy who takes the same rig to the marsh in south Louisiana and he said it does well, but not the fasted. I ran it duck hunting on the river and ran about 24 loaded with 2 men a dog and all the other crap we stuff in this thing to hunt. I've read several posts lately that PD's don't do well on Mod-v but I see them around here all of the time. I just want a servicealble boat that can get where I want to go. Any info from folks with similar rigs would be helpful

I've got the same set up but an xpress hull and motor has stage 1 mods. Runs 28 with just me 26 with 4 people and 80 decoys

Mine was about like yours when I got it, when the motor was stock, it would run about 25 with just me, then I did the mods and its a different boat. But yes, it will work just fine for what your doing.

Where are you located?
Bought the rig from Woods I assume?

If you run the bayous and sloughs off the river you need a 3/16 bottom. .125 or .100 will not hold up up here.

Who makes a boat with a 3/16" bottom? Pro-drive, Gator Trax and Excel are only .125. Are you talking stricktly custom made?

I'll never have another duck boat without a 3/16" bottom! Well worth the extra weight/cost!
