Anyone running something like this? It allows you to run an outboard through grass. Seems like it works well anyone have an opinion? How does it hold up if you hit the occasional log? Anyway to fab one up without as much setback? I have a 25hp on a 1436 that this seems like it would be perfect for where I hunt.

This guy has been making these things for 20+ years. He used to be on Country Club Road in Lake Charles. I've never owned one but have heard good things about them. Just extend the tiller handle and it will be fine.

Used to have one. make an outboard run just about any thing. As long as you have water. Had a 40hp on 14x42 Dura craft. Be careful on the set up. A must if you run veg, with an out board.

I had one too. If I was to go back to an outboard I would definitely have one on my boat.

How does the setback effect the transom? Will it cause it to sit significantly lower? Anyone have a lead on a use one?

I had one and could not imagine owning another outboard duck boat without one. A bunch of us down here had them. TB469, mucknaked, myself and a few others went to surface drives. I still know 4 guys on our lake running an ultrajack.

I made one similar this weekend and got to test it today. I need to get so e setback to get a shallower angle but it is already much better than a regular outboard. My main question is, did you notice any cavitation in the prop or higher rpms when ruining these?

If it cavitates...try a 4 blade.

Mine only really cavitated a little bit on sharp turns. I ran a 3 blade stainless with LOTS of cup.

A buddy of mine just tried a 4 blade stainless and the performance was not nearly what he got out of the 3 blade.
