 Re: Why a skiff?
I haven't been thrown out... I have been spun around and almost swamped one time trying to pass a crew boat that didn't know I was behind it. Lesson learned for me... Take it really easy on those and head on (perpendicular) as possible to distribute the wedging action evenly,

 Re: Why a skiff?
The way it was described to me is like how the front of a kneeboard will catch a wave in rough water and submarine the front down. A boat with a narrow front and long point like mine does pretty good in green timber, a skiff isn't much more pointed than my rig. You could do it without that hideous climbing point everybody seems to hate too!!

 Re: Why a skiff?
The weldbilt crawdad is kind of a skiff/bateau hybrid. I wish I could have one made with a 3/16 bottom and longitudinal stringers, the design would be perfect for what I run

 Re: Why a skiff?
For real? Could you build me one if it turns out good? I've currently got a boat drawn up with a builder but nothing is set in stone and I'm still exploring other options.
