 prop technology
A friend of my brother just told him that he put an over sized prop on his flats boat. Which was great for top end but sucked coming out of the hole. The prop shop drilled a 3/4 inch hole in each fluke/blade and gave him several inserts for the blades. He tried each set of inserts and found the right ones. Now he says he has never been so fast out of the hole and picked up 10 mph on top. Anyone heard of this or tried it on a lawnmower prop?

 Re: prop technology
That works if you have exhaust going across your prop.

 Re: prop technology
It kinda works like a stall converter in a car if I'm not mistaken. Kinda gives it some slip to get the rpms up and get moving.

 Re: prop technology
Venting a prop does help. The PVS system allows you to fine tune.
