how many of you guys are running 1236 jons with small longtail? what makes ya got and how are they peforming?

terrible for me. Ran a 9hp gdlt and would swamp over the back, take on water in turns and wouldnt go through any type of mud. Later upgraded to a 16 on a 14x42 and it was night and day ,

I run a 1236 duracraft with a 5.5 briggs go devil and get about 12 mph by myself. Good little setup for in tight areas

Try a 6.5 surface drive like a JB Mud motor or Copperhead you will get better speeds. JB's come with a clutch Copperheads are direct drive like a longtail.
