Post Need some input *warning mudbuddy question inside*
So I have a war eagle 1848 and just put on a 35hp mudbuddy. My question is, is it unusual to have to shim the motor up from the transom? I only put it in water once to see how it was positioned and ran before drilling the transom to mount it. I was getting a lot of splash back over the transom. I'm new to mud motors and am not sure where I had it trimmed to exactly but I did get in contact with mudbuddy and they confirmed I have a short transom hull and motor.

Should I wait to bolt it down? Maybe I just had it trimmed to low for the speed? Please give me some input. Thanks.

Looks a little low (belt housing) might have to shim up a little bit. Did you ever get it to plane out?

I'd go an inch at a time till it stops spraying you, your trim should be able to compensate for some of the issue you have going on there

if the motor is trimmed wrong it will slash back correct? but if you can trim it to where it doesn't then its good?

With you have a low transom I would be real careful not to sink it if u slow down to quick. I would try and build the transom up! On my last war eagle drop transom with just a 3 cylinder suk on the back I would take on water easy when slowed down and it didn't way nothing like a sd
