Designing and building my own boat
I am looking at building my first boat I have got welding certificates so welding is not the issue,my issue is all in the chines we owne airvonditioning business and we have a 4 ft and a 12 ft break and I have sheet metal mechanics that can build any box I want but I'm not sure how to do the chine and how I would keep it square I currently own a 1754 extreme gtb so I kind of have something to go by, but I want to start off small so I'm gonna start with a 1544 or a 1442 and it will most likly have a outboard on it any advice would be appreciated I would love a picture or a video of someone making the hull from star to finish thanks again.

Also If you could post what you used for the longitudinal runners and the transoms and the top gunnel rail it would be appreciated

Re: Designing and building my own boat
There's TONS of step by step postings of builds on this site. Just dig around in this and the review sections. A square chine boat shouldn't be hard to accomplish if you're not dead set on a 1 piece hull. Lay it out, make your cuts and start putting it together!

Re: Designing and building my own boat
I used 1X2 square tubing for my runners, 4" c-channel for my transom and smooth factory gunnel

Good luck man. Try to remember that you wanted to do this and its suppose to be fun. There's been plenty of times I just wanted to haul mine down to the scrap yard and trade it in on some beer money.
