Ended up finishing the boat with a Prodrive with Hydraulic reverse and E2 kit (EFI w/ head work).
I've run 3 different MB's over 4 years and all I can say is WOW.
I hated the PD twist throttle at first and non-floating handle, but after 6-7 hrs, those vices drew smaller by the second. The almost "zero" tiller torque even in a left turn and lack of vibration can't be matched even close by any other motor I've ever driven. I've always heard of guys bragging about their FULLPower Reverse and have often thought "go shove that crap somewhere else - I'm tired of hearing about it", but after experiencing it in just a few short hours, I seriously don't think I'd ever want to do without it again.
It's not the most aesthetically pleasing motor I've ever seen (kind of reminds me of a 1950's designed robot), but the functionality certainly makes up for the difference.
And the EFi idles and starts so smoothly. Hard to describe.

Re: New 16X44 Gator Trax Hybrid Rake Thats a beautiful boat! Ive always liked Gator Trax boats despite the crappy hunt deck design.. That prodrive is nice huh? I love them if I'm not in nasty stuff.. They drive way smoother than any other mud motor hands down
