Max Outboard HP on Prodrive 17x54 Boat?

 Max Outboard HP on Prodrive 17x54 Boat?Thinking about replacing my 36PD with an outboard. PD is just too damn slow. What do you guys think the max HP should be for my boat? I'm thinking 50-70 HP? Any feedback is appreciated.

, Morgan City area they would put a 150HP on that size boat. Re: Max Outboard HP on Prodrive 17x54 Boat? Ask PD. They will know what it is rated for. I wouldn't put over a 50 unless they specified.

Re: Max Outboard HP on Prodrive 17x54 Boat? I had my Merc 40 turned 60 on my 1848 and although it ran out nice, I would rather have a 90 on it. If you figure the weight of a PD vs a similar size OB you can get away with some serious hp.
