 Gator trax rogue???
What the skinny on a gator trax rogue. Looking at a 14x38 w/ hunt deck (15'6" overall length) and a new mud buddy Sport V motor w/ reverse. I have a 17x54 hunt deck now w/ mb 6000 but it's to big for me. I usually only have me and a dog +1 more a I usually run skinny cuts and timber. Any one think it's too skinn? 14x44 any better?

44" is a lot stabler than a 38

That would be a heavy motor on a small boat and agree the 44 would be more stable.
Talk to Gatortrax about it, they have made and powered many of those boats.

 Re: Gator trax rogue???
A boat that is under 16' and only 38" wide with round chines to boot, would seem way to small to me. I would just feel like that sport motor was too much.

 Re: Gator trax rogue???
Definitely go 44". I have a rogue and while it's an awesome boat for small waters and running narrow guts it's not what I would pick for a 35 hp especially a heavy V.

 Re: Gator trax rogue???
The Mudbuddy Sport V motors are very heavy. I have a Sport H that I weighed at 360 lbs, without oil. I bet the Sport V is very close to that weight. If you want a Mudbuddy, I'd go with a Mini. If you want a 35hp, there are significantly lighter options than a Sport V.
I've been eyeballing the Rogue also. I want a smaller boat when I'm just hunting by myself. I'd put a Gatortail 25 on it. It doesn't take that much horsepower to make a boat that small go fast.

 Re: Gator trax rogue???
I have/am still looking into this a lot, but with a 35GTR on a 15' HD model. After talking with Kent from gatortrax he suggested going with the 44'' bottom if you carry much of a load at all, and honestly he said it is just better suited for anything over a 25hp. Still I can't help but think if the 25 GTR is a great match to this rig the 35 that comes in roughly 30lbs more would be even better lol. Guess that's is why I'm still running my edge with the outboard hate to take a gamble with a new rig and turn out to be yet another turd lol.

 Re: Gator trax rogue???
Need some advice on how to distribute the weight in my boat. Know this is off topic but can't figure this app out . I have a 17ft custom flat bottom with a 36hp pro drive having a bunch of trouble getting on step .
