BoatDR any answer to the mudbuddy/boss question?

It's simple. MB with the help of others designed it. It took forever and they had some failures. MB got a bad name for it. So they sold it to Boss to rebrand it. So it would get rid of the MB name in order to help it sell better. Pretty straight forward. Right.

Now im sure the changes that were made to address the failures were IMO made by MB not BOSS. It only makes sense that the design company that been working on the thing for 5 years have the ability and know to address the problems. Boss may have made some minor improvements but at the end of the day it's still a MB NO matter if WalMart sells it.

Mb did not sell to boss. Boss is a manufacturer and distributer via a dealer network of the boss drives which happen to be based on the miudbuddy sport h design and patents.

So in other words they changed the logo?

Different builder , diff company , same design hopefully built correctly.

Nailed it ^ . MB has way to many different motors while boss motors can focus on just a few at a time like the bigger names like Pro-Drive and Gator tail. Some times less is more. Perfect what you have before you move on to another motor. Mud buddy seems to keep coming out with new motors while there still having issues with other motors. For example lower unit castings keep cracking.

I know the guy very well, but I also said I am not buying one anytime soon . Not till they they prove them self at least . It was my opinion . That does not mean they will they will be worth a shit ! Just hoping they do well. By no means am I advertising for them .

I understand That. It's the whole deal that that everyone says that this is a completely different motor than the MB version. It is false. I'm sure there are some munoor changes but all the guts and the meat of the frame is MB.

BoRob I'm living proof that you can be critical of the V release and still retain MB forum membership. The difference is I didn't have an agenda or what appears is a sincere dislike for MB's owner.

I have no dislike for MB . Not my motor of choice. BoatDr I know you sale mud buddies so not trying to take away from your sales or anything. Just stating the issues MB and Boss have .

The v has more weight to the rear, which caused the lowers to take more impact and crack. The H doesn't have as much weight to the rear, which in concept and practice should reduce the chance of any cracking.

They still say mb because Boss is using parts that had already been made, and why not unless it's something they feel they need to change to make better, and those are parts that they may or may not be producing themselves in the future. Mb currently has a bad name, but that does not make boss bad, nor the H a bad motor. The V on design has an extra element to overcome with the extra weight rear, that the H doesn't have to fight. With Boss hanging their rep and alot of money on it working, it has a better chance of being completely tested by them before they let us have at it. Mud buddy already made good motors in their longtails, the mini, and their HD frames. The V having these kind of issues won't hurt them like lithe H failing would hurt Boss.

Is it true that mudbuddy and boss are working with briggs to have them design a bigger front panel on their motors so that they can fit all the details of the motor on one flat sticker? Will it say mudbuddy first or boss first? Then you will still have to have room for Black Death and HD and Mag and Sport H and H Drive and of course the 35000 or whatever numbers they come up with.
