Yes. My last boat I mount it straight to he deck. But you may have to shim under it with a 1/2" board cut to fit and bolt threw.
My current boat has the alum built in trolling motor platform. It was actually a little harder to mount since I had to drilled and taps threads for it due to limit space for nut. Took about 30 minutes.
Both work great! I can mount it in 30 seconds if I need it, but don"t carry dead weights when not needed. Plus it locks secure.

I have an extension handle on mine not sure of the brand. I will definitely make sure my next troller is tall enough not to need it.

I don't like that I still have to lean down to adjust the speed.

 Hand or foot trolling motor
Kirk here are 2 pics of the extension handle I have. It does pivot up and down. The handle itself is about 3' and for steering only its solid.
