Im just curious if any of ya'll have put an outboard on a mud hull? I know gator ttrax makes the outboard package etc, but I have a 1748 PD with 21" sides, tall transom and tapered chine. Found a good deal on a Yamaha 90 2 stroke and thought its would be sweet for fishing season. Ya'll think it would be too much for the boat? 36hp prodrive weighs 335lbs and the 90 weighs 261 so weight shouldn't be the problem.

it will be fine. don't forget to add a hyd jackplate.

stay under 150hp or so and u should be fine.

The outboard package from gator tax has additional longitudinal stringers which keep the bottom from flexing too much at outboard speeds, which can cause the bottom to crack over time. I am not sure about PD boats and if they have enough bracing for this, but that is where your concern would lie.

Put it on and post the top speed.

Was thinking jackplate and poling platform and it should be a sweet fishing rig. I emailed kp and he said people had put outboards on em before but I was curious if any of ya'll have

several people down here put outboards on their hulls in the summer to fish, put the prodrive back on for hunting season.

same with gatortail hulls. see several with outboards on them.

Emailed kp yesterday and he said shouldn't have a problem at all.
