 Trexx for bunks
Building out a new boat and trailer, was going to use 2x10 PT for the bunks with carpet, but have had problems with electrolisis on another skiff in the past. Went to PVC strips on that, seemed to help. I was wondering if anyone has used Trexx deck planks for bunks, and how they worked? I am using wetlander on the bottom of the new boat, so want to maximize slip on and off, and also keep from tearing it up anymore than necessary. Anybody else try this yet?

 Re: Trexx for bunks
This is a good subject to use the search feature on. There are plenty of options out there, but here are a few.
A lot of people sware by bare wood painted with Gator Glide. You can use another slick coating, but you wouldn't be going with the best.
There is a guy who used plastic gutter down spouts split in two, attached over his bunk boards. He seems happy with it.
There is a recent post where a guy used UHMW polyethylene strips. That looks like the ticket. I’d be interested in seeing this and trying it out.
Get creative.

 Re: Trexx for bunks
Keep in mind for the Trexx boards, they need a lot more support than standard wood does. I know for a few that have build decks out of it.
